PARTICLE MOCAP

This was a second year university motion capture project where I used motion capture data along with render textures and particle simulations to create a short scene representing a sport.

I initially chose Taekwondo as my sport as I used to partake in it when I was younger. this has me creating moldboards and studying the moves that I would use for my motion capture, however shortly after the first Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were put in place meaning access to the AUT MOTION CAPTURE LAB and CORTEX LAB was impossible meaning I has to improvise using pre-recorded motion capture fighting actions.

 

This data was then processed in MOTION BUILDER and then attached to a character I modelled and textured in MAYA. I continued by adding trail simulations created through MASH in MAYA and then was rendered out with REDSHIFT with the addition of sound effects in PREMIER PRO.
